About Me

One of God's sheep who has moved to different pastures. Sometimes they seem greener and other times not so green. But my Shepherd is always there for me.

Another Saturday, another redo. I have been wanting the cabinets moved since we have moved here. Saturday morning seemed like a good time to do it. After all the living room had a redo. This time I recruited dear hubby since he knows more about hammer and nails.

This is the before picture. It was hard to see what the little lambs where doing if I was working in the kitchen. I wanted the area to be more open. So we moved the cabinets on to the wall.

It already looks more open.

Did all this stuff go into those cabinets?

I really like the open space and I can see what the lambs are doing now. One day the fridge will go on the wall we moved the cabinets to and we plan to put in new floor. That will be another Saturday.

A touch of Great Grandmother

I had some quilt tops that my husbands grandmother had made. I believe she was planning on making pillows from them.

My daughter taped them up on the wall one day on a whim. I was to live with them to see if I liked the arrangement. If not I was to move them to another wall. They were taped up for the last two months.

Today I found frames for them

After framing them, I had to decide how to arrange them on the wall. I traced around the frames onto newspaper and cut the pattern. Than I laid out the frames on the floor. When I got the arrangement I liked I taped the cut newspaper patterns on the wall.We centered the nail on the paper and hammered it in. We than tore off the paper and hung the quilt tops.

I have a few more to do. But for now these will suffice.

When you get depressed move things

Sometimes when I get down I start moving things around. If I get out of bed that is. Yesterday was one of those days.

First it was out to the garage. I moved boxes from shelf to shelf. I was able to clear some clutter out, but not enough. I got really discouraged and went inside.

Standing in the living room I decided it was time to think outside the box. I love it when all the decorating shows move stuff around and make it look nice. Well I thought I would give it a try.

I wanted the furniture to be pulled away from the walls. I have always put everything up against the walls.

Before

I became my own extreme makeover team again. For some reason I won't ask for help. I think it is because I move each piece of furniture into several different places before I feel like it is right. Someone else would think I need a game plan on paper.

I had all the furniture out in the middle of the living room on a angle. Dear hubby said it looked like I was thinking outside the box. He meant it as a compliment.

Someone came over and said that they liked it better the other way. So back into the box I went. Well not all the way, I did move the recliner to the other side and moved the loveseat to the other side of room on an angle. My desk is now sitting where I can look out the window.

After looking at the pictures I think I may like the before after all.

Smokin and Stripping

Sometimes on a Saturday Dear Hubby and I will work together on something and other times we will do our own thing. This last Saturday we joined together doing our own thing.

I stripped in the garage!

Expanding Mind Expanding garden

It seems everytime I go to the library I pick another book on gardening. My Mind seems to be expanding.

In April this is what my garden looked like.

It was a a little bare.

This is what it looks like today. The squash is coming in almost everyday. It won't be long and I will have real live tomatoes or is that tomatos

My garden is expanding!!!!!!!!!

What was Lost is Found

God is good in the little things. I found the purse. It was in our Sunday School room. I had looked twice at the church and didn't find it. Thanks for prayers. I did feel like the women in Luke15:8-1

I am rejoicing.

Everyone go to Carries site and sign up for her drawing. She is giving away some beautiful cards.

Lost Lost Lost Pray I find find find

There is a parable in the Bible about a women who has lost a coin and she searches everywhere for it. She finds the coin and she is sooooooo happy.

I want to feel that joy when I find my purse. Yes I have done it again misplaced something and I can't find it. But this time it is my purse with some important stuff in it.

Like the license that was so hard for me to get. Also my bank card and the wallet that matches my other purse. My car keys and house keys are also in that purse.

I have looked everywhere. I am hoping it isn't in three batches of stuff I gave to freecycle. There were three different people picking up stuff. Pray that I find it soon so I can rejoice.

Pray for the Randal family

I was checking the yahoo news and noticed that a man was wanted in Illinois for killing 8 people. I noticed that one of the people was from the town we had just moved from. I checked the Galesburg Registar Mail for more information and found that his body was found across the street from where we used to live.

You hear about things like this happening but you don't think it would happen close to home. This was my home and my community. This was a man I may have seen and talked with at the Hyvee store.

Many of my dearest friends live in that area. Pray for the Randal family and for the people of Galesburg who have had their security taken away.

A short trip that became long

Dear hubby starts a new job in the morning! Yeah! so we thought it would be good to see where it was and how long it took to get there. We got there in a short drive time, checked out the place and the small town it is in.

I was wanting to go to JRs which is an Amish store to pick up some baking stuff so off we go on another route.

As we were traveling down the road I spotted McMurry's Hosta and Daylily farm. I had Dear Hubby turn around and go back.

Someday my yard will look like this.

I already have the big hosta

After walking thru this lovely garden I purchased an African Purple Daylilly for only 5dollars. These people should be charging admittance.

On the road again

Dear Hubby needed a restroom and some lunch so off to the Amish store, we stopped at a rest area which also happened to be an Indian burial ground called Siep mound.

At the rest area the car decided it needed to rest also.

The Amish store will have to wait for another day.
