About Me

One of God's sheep who has moved to different pastures. Sometimes they seem greener and other times not so green. But my Shepherd is always there for me.

No the big Sheep didn't eat me

It's been one of those weeks that go by and you just let it. Terry has a job!!!! He starts next week at the community college. It is part time but he may be able to get some extra classes. I have been thinking about painting the kitchen. Yesterday I did it. Looks like Renee had the same idea.

I was able to get mine done without four children underfoot. Have no idea how she did it. I will be starting on the living room soon.

Is anybody out there

Just wondering if my posts are that boring that no one is commenting. I miss the comments.

It's not about Me

I wonder if some of the Israelites that left Egypt for the Promise Land really wanted to leave. After all they had been there for several generations and most of it was not in slavery. It was all they had known. We look down on them and wonder why would they want to go back to Egypt when they had the promise Land to look forward to.

If I had been one of the Israelites I could see myself as one who would say, Its not to bad here, we have jobs, homes and times will change after all it hasn't always been this way. At the first sight of the Pharaohs army I would be in the crowd saying, It would be better to be buried in Egypt than out here in no mans land.

I wouldn't have seen the miracles of God because I was dwelling on the past and fearful for the future.

Its been a hard month for me. I miss my old home and friends. I remember the good jobs and health insurance we had. Here it's been temp jobs and a scary trip to the Doctor. Sometimes I wonder if we heard God right. Dwelling on the past and fearful of the future is what I have been doing.

This morning I woke up to the sound of God, yes He does speak thru the radio. The first song was Count your Blessings. He wasn't finished speaking to me yet. I have been, I this ,I that, me me me. He had another message for me.

It's not about me
It's about Jesus

A Doe a Deer

Terry yelled at me to look out the window today seems there was a fox running across the front yard. We went outside and couldn't see the fox. Looking across the way we spotted two deer that have been lunching on my mother in Laws flowers. We think they are two fawns.

Fall is coming Fall is coming

I hear the crickets it's that time again. I am learning to enjoy this time of year. Fall used to be the worst season for me. When it started I knew the long dark days of winter would start. Being the pessimist that I am, I would have six months that I dreaded before it even started. What a waste.

Now, I'm enjoying the sounds and sights of its coming. I have my own show looking out the window or as I go out for my daily walk, every day is different. I guess as we age we start to see things differently.

Such is life. You dread having that certain birthday for several years not enjoying what you have. You dread the changes that are coming in life and miss out on whats happening right now. The butterfly landing on the flowers, the kids having fun in the water, the bird perched outside your window.

May God give you eyes to see his beauty even in the mist of the rush of life.

Let there be light

A little bit more on the house. You would think that you would get everything you need for a small light job in the box you purchased. The box should say " you will need five more trips to lowes before this little project gets finished." It doesn't help that all the screws are metric and they don't sell metric in this area. Not good if you lose one of the screws or one of the bolts isn't in the box.

The finished light fixture. After three days and five trips to Lowe's

A Staycation

Had a bit of a pity party last week. I was missing my old friends back in Illinois. Don't take offense guys you aren't old as in old. So I got online trying to find a Bed and Breakfast or a cabin near here . Sometimes when I get down I check out places to go. Boy did I find some. Our budget was 10 dollars. These are two that I thought would be great. Both are near us. http://www.serenitylogcabins.com/gallery/countrycharm/

Not in the budget.

After looking at some of the cabins I thought what am I doing. I have a house on a hill overlooking woods and hills, great scenery, a table with an umbrella on the deck, a large bedroom with clean sheets and the bed is made. The room also has a master bath with clean towels. I have my own bed and breakfast.

So I got in the kitchen fixed a great dinner, got out my good dinnerware, my usual dishes instead of paper plates. Than I went to the garage to dig out my stemware, made a pitcher of lemonade and got out the cloth napkins. I ate out on the deck watching the sunset with a wonderful husband and than we went out to see the sights.

First stop Lowe's to get some stuff for the Saturday fix ups. Than a stop at the local Ice Cream stand called the Buckeye, great raspberry shakes.

To use a phrase from a blogger friend of mine http://miastoriadivita.blogspot.com/
I was taking a Staycation. Anybody else ever had one of these?
